After high-scoring Test matches, Pakistan is now hosting Australia for a three-match ODI series starting Tuesday. The green would miss Shadab Khan as he is not playing due to injury. The last time Pakistan played an ODI match was back in July 2021 when the green lost 3-0 to a second-string England side.
The administration of Australian cricket has decided and confirmed that they will take a trip to Pakistan to play the One Day International ODI matches mutual series in the month of March-April 2022. Pakistan vs Australia ODI matches 2022 will be an essential part of the 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. It is excellent news for Pakistan cricket that Australian cricket gets on has allowed their squad to trip to Pakistan for the ODI series as New Zealand has previously disregarded a contest against Pakistan’s home ground because of some security issues.
The ODI matches will start at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on 29 March 2022, and the next and third ODI will be held at the same place on 31 March and 2 April 2022.
Apparently, the Australian cricket players will come to Pakistan under the management of Aaron Finch and Babar Azam will be the head of the Pakistan ODI squad. The Pakistani captain is the number 1 ODI batsman in the limited-over match; alternatively, Aaron Finch is at the number 5th point. The players of Pakistan have improved loads in their game when Babar came into the command as a captain. The team seems well balanced with experienced number 1 batsmen and brilliant bowlers like Shaheen Afridi and others. Pakistan is all set to confer a tough contest to Australia in the approaching ODI series.
Currently, Australia is footing at the 3rd position in the ICC ODI team ranking and Pakistan is the come to 6th position. But performing against Pakistan at the house ground of Pakistan will not be undemanding for Australia as they will trip to Pakistan after a long gap of 24 years. Moreover, Pakistan does not have a great winning record against Australia in One Day Internationals, and Australia has conquered Green several times. Since November 2021, both the teams come in front of each other in 104 one-day internationals where Australia got the victory in 68 ODIs and Pakistan could be triumphant in just 32 matches that show Australia has overcome Pakistan in ODI. The match will be interesting to watch how Australia will present in Pakistan’s motherland after 24 years.
