Take The Bus, Or Tram To South Melbourne Market

​​Tram From Melbourne’s CBD

  • Take the 96 tram from Bourke Street and alight at South Melbourne (Stop 127).
  • Take the No. 12 bus from Collins Street, which runs down Clarendon Street. Exit at the intersection of York Street (Stop 127).
  • From Collins Street, take tram 109 to the intersection of Clarendon and Whiteman streets (Stop 125 – Port Junction). 
  • Then either transfer to No. 96 or walk up Clarendon Street to York Street.
  • No. 1 from Federation Square to the junction of Park Street and Cecil Street in South Melbourne Beach (Stop 25). Exit the streetcar and go straight up to Cecil Street.
  • A five-minute walk will take you to the Market.

Bus Route

National Bus Route 236 connects Garden City in Port Melbourne to South Melbourne Market via Bay Street.  It operates only on weekdays, every 25-35 minutes.
